Some rough concept pieces I created for a Nike pitch last year which sadly never came to fruition! In this line of work you often create things which end up never being used or seen by anybody! This was one of those cases.

Thanks for the post. It’s true you can’t see your own work for what it is. I used to think my work was pretty good, but as I started to improve in art school, I realized how far it was from entry level professional work, and every semester I was falling further and further behind my peers, and I just sort of gave up on drawing after financial things made it impossible to keep going to school. I didn’t call it that, but I avoided drawing, and especially avoided drawing my own things and things I cared about because I resented those things for teaching me the ‘wrong way’ to draw. I wished I was another artist who liked technical drawings and grueling anatomical studies and forty hour portraits instead of cartoons because the best cartoonist seemed to master that stuff easily.
